Occupation Permit – Professional is a residence route in Mauritius (Erwerbstätigkeit). Job offer with basic salary ≥MUR 50,000/month in all sectors (ProPass/Expert Pass merged Aug 2026); valid for contract term, max 10 yrs. Young Professional OP for recent graduates; lower-paid jobs need Work Permit (Ministry of Labour). PRP after 5 yrs at ≥MUR 400,000/month. Fee USD 1,000 + USD 50.
Requirements at a glance
You need an annual income of about CHF 10'400. There is no minimum stay to keep the permit. Spouse and children can usually be included. Permanent residence: after 5 years. Citizenship can be possible after about 7 years.

Resident if ≥183 days (or 270 over 3 yrs); non-domiciled: foreign income taxed only if remitted, 0–20% + 35% band >MUR 12M from Jul 2026; no CGT/IHT
